Trading identity · Herat

Logo design Herat: a mark that carries across a trading relationship.

In Herat a business often meets its customers through an invoice, a box or a message before anyone visits the shop. The mark has to look the same on all three, and it has to travel well when a partner in another city prints it. We build a small, steady set for that kind of use.

  1. Made to sit beside a signature

A trading name is often read on paper next to a signature and a stamp. We draw a compact version that stays clear in one colour and keeps its proportions when a clerk prints it on ordinary paper.

  2. Dari and Latin on equal footing

Buyers on this side of the border read Dari and suppliers may read Latin, so neither version looks like an afterthought. Each is spaced for its own script and both keep the same weight and rhythm.

  3. One set for shop, box and card

The same files are prepared for a shopfront, a carton label and a business card, with clear rules about the smallest size. When a relative or a partner asks for the artwork, they get the right file instead of a screenshot.

Do you design a family business name in two scripts?

Yes, and it is common here. We keep the family name exactly as it is written and draw the second script to match its weight, rather than translating the name.

Can the mark be printed by a local printer?

The handover includes files a local printer can open without special software. We also list the colours in plain terms so a printer without a colour profile can still match them.
